One of the greatest free roaming games on the market got a much deserved graphical and gameplay update in the sequel to D.I.C.E.’s World War II multiplayer hit.  Battlefield 2 improves upon every aspect of the game, making it more team focused by using squads and commanders, but retaining its classic “easy to play” first person shooter feel.

 

Pitting you in the present day, you play as either Chinese forces, Middle Easter Coalition forces, or the United States Marine Core fighting on gigantic maps.  Complete with the patented, “fly anything, drive anything, go anywhere,” theme of the original game, Battlefield 2 features remarkable vehicles like fighter jets, tanks, and helicopters in addition to your personal weapon, which can be upgraded by playing on ranked Battlefield 2 servers.

 

The Battlefield 2 Soundtrack isn’t very big, but it definitely captures the games themes, whether it’s the classic sounds brought up in the opening movie or the location-themed music while the maps are loading.
