The second installment of Extreme G Racing brought several new features to the table, but for the most part it brought a whole lot of the same…which isn’t exactly a good thing.
At the time, there were many other racing titles available that made for some strong competition for a sequel to a game that was widely regarded as good, just not a breakthrough. Everything from the “ordinary” racing of Midway’s San Francisco Rush series to futuristic ones like F-Zero X made Extreme G 1 seem better than the second installment. More bikes, more characters, and some endorsements went into this game, but poor track design and intense lighting that slowed the framrate down were enough to keep many gamers away.
The Extreme G 2 Soundtrack features techno-dance style music, much the same as the original game did.
